where to begin
02:50
|
|||
When will we know, where to begin?
People you know - you start with yourself.
You're not acting like you love yourself,
you're not acting like you love yourself.
Soon we will know, where to begin,
which way to turn, from the places we've been.
We've been fighting for years,
trying to save it,
fighting for years - now you know there's progress.
Brothers, sisters, you know we're growing closer,
love is powering the people, soon it will be over.
Now that we know, where to begin,
loving is easy, hate is a sin.
Rulers they know, where to begin,
so why are they violent - let the love in.
We've been fighting for years,
trying to save it,
fighting for years - now you know there's progress.
Brothers, sisters, you know we're growing closer,
love is powering the people, soon it will be over.
You're not acting like you love yourself,
you're not acting like you love yourself.

train coming
04:04
|
|||
There's a train coming and I'm tied to the tracks.
There's a train coming and I'm tied to the tracks.
There's a storm brewing and it's too late to get back.
There's a wind blowing and this house will soon collapse.
There's a war starting, but I don't want to fight.
There's a wrong winning, but I'll hold out for the right.
Do you want something, that you know I cannot give?
There's a train you're driving - I've got small time left to live.
I don't know if I'm strong enough to untie these ropes.
I hear you say I've had long enough, it might just be too late.
I don't know if I'm strong enough to untie these ropes.
I hear you say I've had long enough, it might just be too late.
There's a train coming. There's a fast train coming.
There's a train coming. There's a fast train coming.
There's a train coming and I'm tied to the tracks.
There's a train coming and you're there with a knife, standing back.

spinning planets
02:46
|
|||
We're on a spinning planet, spinning around our sun,
with a spinning moon encircling - perhaps this will soon make us one.
But you don't see that spinning - you're spinning around yourself, you spin those pills inside you, take pleasure in wrecking your health;
and it all comes back, when I rest my head, there's this dream I've had - when you awaken.
Our sun is a spinning star, spinning around in our galaxy,
our galaxy is spinning, in a universe it's free.
But you don't see that spinning - you're spinning around yourself, you spin those pills inside you, take pleasure in wrecking your health;
and it all comes back, when I rest my head, there's this dream I've had - when you awaken.
(You know you're always like, you know you break my heart, you know you acting like a man who will fall apart.)
and it all comes back, when I rest my head, there's this dream I've had - when you awaken.
(You know you're taking prisoners, you even pull their hair, you know you're someone who'll be dead when they get there).

to feel alive
05:34
|
|||
To feel alive, I must let the winter in, like i chase the summer sun, while the earth lies on it's side, while the earth lies on it's side.
Walking with no clothes, on the beech and in the trees - don't let them say it's not ok. Take your lover, have some fun. Take your lover, have some fun.
When Monday's dark and full of rain, there are things to break the pain.
For how long must your face be upside.
The second day of the weekend - you need not feel this way again. You can break this, you can make this.
The river flows every day, the planet spins it's way.
You can live in the moment, if you are aware of
the wonder of infinity - space goes on infinitely; not only above you, but also inside you.
Take your lover, have some fun. Take your lover, have some fun. Take your lover, have some fun.

the meadow sways
04:05
|
|||
The sun shines and the meadow sways,
five months in – the perfect day.
You lie there, in your cotton summer dress.
The river flows and I’m inspired to confess.
If I could bottle, if I could bottle up the day,
I would open it up,
when it’s raining
and I’m complaining.
It’s funny how you’re mind can track the seasons through the year;
It’s funny how the land can spark a smile or run a tear;
It’s funny how I’m happy with you lying by me here -
I will do my best to please you and so erode my fear.
Now our love’s made us strong,
we must seek to pass it on.
Silence will not right the wrongs.
Won’t you stand up? Won’t you fight on?
The sun shines and the meadows sways;
positivity is flowing through our veins.
You lie there in your cotton summer dress;
the river flows and I will try to do my best.

before the moment passes
04:04
|
|||
The second time that I saw you, I should've knelt down before you.
The third time that I saw you, I was scared that I would bore you;
and I need a film script-writer in my head, someone like you to fill my bed - even all the advice I take from friends; I just can't get a chance to make a mends.
Now I'm alone with you, I must do what I can do.
Before the moment passes, before the end of all my chances, before he takes your hand, before he gets to work his plan.
Before the winter darkness, before the cold of feeling loveless, I pray the script will find a way to say what's on my mind.
The 51st time saw you, I think I knelt down before you,
your children were buying ice cream and your husband was playing on the swings.
By now, I'm a writer of great films and the words just flow like rivers do; at last I confess my love to you, but now you're alone with me - it's you whose words won't set you free.
Before the moment passes, before the end of all my chances, before he takes your hand, before he gets to work his plan.
Before the winter darkness, before the cold of feeling loveless, I pray the script will find a way to say what's on my mind.
The second time that I saw you, I think I knelt down before you.
The third time that I saw you, I'm so glad you said I should call you.

bailbrook lane
04:13
|

I'm coming down from Solsbury Hill.
You know my love, I wish you well.
Walking down the Bailbrook Lane,
things may never be the same,
I don't care who takes the blame.
Bailbrook Lane, Bailbrook Lane.
I'm coming down from Solsbury Hill.
I love the way it made me feel.
You know that what sent me there,
there's some things I just can't bear,
a moment without a care;
I lay there til the sun came round,
til dew woke and left the ground;
I watched while the moon looked down on
Bailbrook Lane, Bailbrook Lane.
I'm laying down on Solsbury Hill,
I love the way it made me feel.
Looking down on Bailbrook Lane;
a wonder come shine, come rain;
a stream near that gives it's name.
I lay there til the sun came round,
til dew woke and left the ground;
I watched while the moon looked down on
Bailbrook Lane, Bailbrook Lane.
Since I came down from Solsbury Hill...

The artist and the scientist, had for some time been friends,
although their points of view came from very different ends.
One claimed to know the answers from logic free of rules;
one claimed the only answers were those he learnt in school.
So rarely agreed, but always open to the view they pinned their hope on.
Impressed by the others stubborn conviction, but possessed by their own narrow prediction.
So long in disagreement, they both agreed a cunning plan - for each to lead the others work and stimulate the other man.
Why can't the world be like our friendship, that evolved into a partnership.
My friend we can find a way that's forward, our race need not be so down and cornered.
Lets work out where we came from, to find out where to go to;
you've got to have respect, to get where we can get.
Everybody started equal. We got led by the deceitful.
Lets look out into space to save the human race.
The artist and the scientist had for some time been friends,
although their points of view came from very different ends.

selfless people

You thought you’d go in your own direction.
One day you made a rare connection.
Seeking praise never your intention.
Your strength beat apprehension.
Never one for the photo shoot -
you’d wear nothing than a pinstripe suit.
You’re more aware than the average clown -
You never settled in the dull small town.
You followed Gandhi since your mother died,
you swam against a swelling tied,
you went to help the weak and afflicted -
you never thought you’d become addicted.
Many years in a foreign place;
the many crimes of the human race.
You never needed to hear the applause,
you’re a saint with a noble cause.
You’re an unsung hero,
where would the world be
without the loving things you do?
You put your arms around the world
and you bear it out, you bear it out, you bear it out again.
On your own you set a fine example,
where others found too large a handful.
Surely others too should bear the pain -
It’s you that meant the world would gain.
Many years in a foreign place;
the many crimes of the human race.
You never needed to hear the applause,
You’re a saint with a noble cause.
You’re an unsung hero,
where would the world be
without the loving things you do?
You put your arms around the world
and you bear it out, you bear it out, you bear it out again.

billions of stars
04:23
|
|||
As you fall through your life, trying to spot the danger -
it’s like walking alone at night, with your eyes wide open
you try to hide from things that hunt the best at night.
You get caught, tho you are sometimes at fault
and on any given night, billions of stars surround
the place where you’re often found – tho fear I fear still guides you.
Won’t you live your life, only fear you should fear.
Don’t you hold back – it’s later than you think.
Sometimes, it feels like you’re jumping off a cliff.
Don’t be scared, you be brave.
Getting hold of now, won’t you take some time to find out how?
I will not stay to fight with you – tho it seems you really want me to -
you project, what you have not solved yet.
Have you seen – the billion stars above;
the infinite dance of love.
Maybe you can feel it,
maybe when young you were short of it,
maybe it’s just you conceal it?
Won’t you live your life, only fear you should fear.
Don’t you hold back – it’s later than you think.
